Distance

It's a very odd feeling having the freedom again to do what you want, when you want to do it. Last week, Andy and I were a lot about the debauchery. We were only home one night last week and then were off camping for the weekend! It was awesome! But it was also so exhausting. This week we've definitely taken it a lot easier. We had a gloriously relaxing time camping with our friends and it was such a great reset on my attitude and soul. I read in a hammock all day and just laughed and chilled out. It made me really grateful to my family for taking the kids and allowing Andy and I the time to just concentrate on ourselves and being a couple rather than two people trying to keep four people's lives going.

Speaking of which, the kids are having a BLAST!!! They had a rocky start and weren't huge fans of being left at the summer school at Michelle's work. So Nana and Mimi have been our saviors and have taken on watching them while Michelle works. They've had time with everyone it seems while they've been there and have loved every second of it. It makes it hard to be so far away from our extended family. As much as we love living here, it is really hard to know that most of the year they miss having those relationships with everyone beyond us. Makes me want to make this an annual thing!

Sleeping Spider Boy

Playing Power Rangers

Molly has been babied I think!

Having fun at the Botanical Gardens

Mason's love of superheroes has properly been spoiled! :)

More botanical garden fun

All tuckered out

Ava has taken to swimming like a fish! She's been all about going every day this week and Nana has been a great teacher for her. I can't wait for her to start her swim lessons when she comes home!

Mason, it seems, is more of a cautious swimmer!

Facetime has saved us! We can talk nightly and it makes it more OK to be so far way

This was our own personal way to blow off steam and relax this weekend...........
