Cozy Fires Await Us

Remodeling got taken off the shelf and put into use again for us in the last couple of days....it feels fantastic! We did some math and realized a lot of projects we've been putting off really were a lot more affordable than originally thought. We turned out attention to our fireplace this weekend...and by we I mean Andy. We also chose a stain for the floors but are trying to decide if it may be better to wait till next spring/summer when it's warmer. We're going to have to be off them for a couple of days and may need to do a little backyard camping. It's getting down to the 30's now so that's not quite a feasible option for us right now. We'll see though. It's gonna be a long winter staring at the raunchy condition our floors are right now. It may just get the best of us before then. Ava's asthma flaired up the last day unfortunately but fortunately I had to take a sick day today while she recovered. We had an awesome day pretending we were princesses and playing play-doh. Mason used a plastic bat as a phone and chatted with someone for like half an hour. It was hilarious! We've been enjoying settling in again for the cooler weather and making our house extra cozy to enjoy being in while the weather is groody outside.

On the right is the stain we've chosen...it's called english chesnut. On the left is what we have now...going to look very different!

ESCAPE!

You just know...Mason's thinking HOLY MOLY what did I do?

Ava all asthma'd out.
This is what I call...Forced Cheese.

Our beautiful new almost finished living room. We still need a mantel and bookcases but it's a FANTASTICAL START!

Close up!
