RIP Blankie

We've been in need of a sewing machine for a long time - due to this blanket! My coworker hooked it up and let us borrow hers and Andy learned how to use it tonight. Yeah yeah I know I'm the girl and should have done it but it was so much healthier for the well being of us all for him to work it out. He's just way more patient with that stuff.  Anyways. This blanket was made by a family member and Ava has loved it since the day she got it at 4 months old. She hugged it the whole time on our move to Washington; while she adjusted to daycare; when she visited her baby brother at the hopsital when he was born. It's just gone everywhere with her. All her countless airplane trips and all! It's a well traveled woobie.

PRE-SURGERY:
Seriously it was not child safe. It was practically a weapon! She could have strangled herself in it in her sleep or Mason or someone.

 POST SURGERY:

Kindergarten has also been on my mind a lot lately. I think it was due to us re-organizing the garage and going through all our old high school stuff. It just brought back all my memories of being uber shy and introverted and struggling through basic social interactions through school. In a way I'm concerned about Ava with this because while she's been in daycare since she was 13 months old she has a tendency to clam up much like I do. So I have 9 months to prepare her. We're going to enroll her in extra curricular activities and get her used to new environments. But also, I'm fearful of the child's hair. It's CRAZY! And I don't know what to do with it so most of the time I ignore it because she isn't a huge ponytail girl. Well to avoid her not only dealing with shyness I figured as a mom I could do her the favor of figuring out her hair. So then she won't be shy frizzy haired girl in class. This is my first attempt.

I still need to figure out the back.
