Big Papa

Ava and Mason went to their friend CJ's party over the weekend. It was at a community center's pool and I was totally all for NOT going in - especially after just having lunch and then deciding to still stuff a piece of pizza in my mouth at the party. There's just something wrong about a community pool sometimes. But Andy gave me the point and get in here sign and I obliged. I'm glad I did! Yes I was a little self conscious but I figured who cares. My kids will have memories of that party with their mom playing with them in versus watching from the side lines - we did it as a family and I didn't just force it on Andy to deal with the kids in the water. It felt like we were a real functioning family. LOL! Ava's a little dare devil in that water, too. I have to get her swim lessons. She has no fear and was swimming under water and dog paddling all over the place. It's time for that now that she's not so meek with the whole pool idea and she's all for swimming lessons as long as "she doesn't' get that guy teacher". He seemed like a nice enough guy but I found it odd she'd say that. Anyways....Mason was also quite the sport. He loved the water slide so much! And there was a cute pirate ship smaller one that he got a kick going down too. It was a great idea for a birthday!

Surfing is serious business

She LOVED the slide!

This was no Mira Mesa Racquet Ball Club Pool

Mason was enthralled with the basketball hoop in the water

He was so brave on the baby slide

And the big slide - with Mommy holding tight

BIG PAPA STICKS!!!!!!!!
Alright so last year camping with Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Mike they had these amazing Womp 'Em sticks. You take biscuits and wrap it around this dowel rod type thing and roast them on the camp fire then fill them with any kind of ooey gooey goodness you'd want. Cherry Pie filling, jam, ice cream, whipped cream, sausages for breakfast, pizza sauce and pepporonis - whatever. This summer has been full of friends and campfires so this was right up our alley. Well Uncle Mike so kindly sent us some down of his own Big Papa Sticks and of course that was a need for a fire! We all ran to the store and had a nice impromptu party which are always the best kinds. The Big Papa sticks (or wiener biscuits as our friend referred to them) are so phallic that it was a serious gut busting giggle fest. Don't worry MOM- the kiddos were safe inside watching a movie (where we could see them but out of ear shot of the crudeness).

The monkeys having a little dinner

The maiden voyage!

I know. It's just ridiculous!  I should have taken a picture of Aunt Carolyn's instructions - they were cracking me up!
Good times with good friends. Need anybody ask for more? And yes I have ice cream on my nose.

Mine had cake batter ice cream and my biscuit popped a hole (LOL!!) and was leaking all over my pants! HAHAHAHAHAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! Sorry I know this is a website for my kids but COME ON - that's funny I don't care what you say!

It was great! Thank you Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Mike!
