Last Bits of Summer

The past two weekends we've spent really make the most of what's left of our summer. The weekend before Labor Day we went camping just the four of us. We wanted to take the kids where we went while they were in San Diego but unfortunately for us all the sites were all taken. We drove all around with the sun setting trying to find a spot and went on some really hairy roads. I'm all for exploring but holy crap sometimes I wish the map said - POTENTIAL SASQUATCH HOME. All and all we had a good trip. We love camping by water and this place had none so for Andy who has taken up fishing like crazy and me who loves a good lake we were sort of unimpressed. But the kids said it was their favorite campsite yet. I think it was because they broke in the new tent by playing in it all day.
Labor Day weekend we went with Jasmine and family to her hometown, Halfway, for rodeo. It was a blast to see where she came from and meet her family. The kids played nonstop and Cooper was in heaven running around in the open space. I've never seen two girls so entertained making mud pies. We all came home a little tanner and a lot more relaxed and refreshed. It was the perfect way to sum up this summer and I can't wait to go back again.

I love these goofy faces

I loved this! They just climbed into the tent with me and Mason "drove" us to the zoo and we played for a long while.

they were a little nervous at first. I don't blame them! I was too!

This kitty loved Ava! I was so nervous we were going to have issues with her asthma but she did just fine.
