Chill Mode

I feel the hibernation sinking in. It's coming for us whether we like it or not. Andy and I are so sleepy all the time and the kids are staring to get runny noses. Fall be cometh for us! This Friday Ava had her six year check up. She's so tall. She was 3'11". I was thinking to myself WOW she's almost 4ft. She's doing awesome. She finally has put on some weight and is in the 60th percentile for weight and 80th for height.  The doctor was uber concerned about developing an asthma plan as we're hitting the cold weather shift. I think we have one that works so fingers crossed! All was well. She even took her flu shot like a champ. It made me very nostalgic of her baby years when she was this little scrawny baby sitting in a baby seat.  Here she is this kid who can tie her own shoelaces and talk about her dreams and get herself her own cereal in the morning. It's so weird!

Saturday, her friend Isaac's mom texted and said there was a Girl Scout event for his sister that a bunch of scouts cancelled on so she had spots to take younger kids and she wanted to take Ava. It was like this new leaf being turned over for us. She went and did that for 3 or so hours and we had this "free" time to take Mason to his soccer game and concentrate on him. Not that Ava's a very time consuming kid it's just that it was really nice to just have one on one time with Mason. I think he ate it up too. And Ava had a blast checking out the bees.  Andy's been going frisbee golfing with his friend every Saturday so that leaves us to decide what we want to do. This week, I took the kids to the movies and they loved it. We saw "Diarrhea of a Wimpy Kid" as Ava calls it! LOL! I think I'm going to do it again next weekend! It reminded me of being a kid and always going to the movies with my Nannie and how fun that was. I love how much easier these simple things are now that they are older. After the movie Andy was still not home so we went and checked out Halloween costumes and roamed Target. Ava got this headband kit to make her own headbands and we went home and crafted it up. I rocked the glue gun and apparently missed my calling with making those!

Yesterday taking a hike

We were surprised there was still water flowing after all our no rain these past few months. Check out how Mason and Ava's hands are the same size just longer fingers on Ava.

My loves

Cool playground we stumbled across on the hike

My fearless wee man

It looked like this path lead to another world or something

Ava taking care of business and tying Mason's laces

I think this is honey?

Caterpillars!

Not too sure about tasting that
