Changes

Today marks the last day of first grade for Ava and yesterday we said goodbye to the kids' daycare for the past six years. It's totally bittersweet because while for Mason's sake this change is going to be so positive; it also means...really truly we are moving on from the "baby years". It's just all in your face we are parents of a school age kids now. And guess what? It's still equal parts hard and rewarding just in vastly different ways. I'm so glad in so many ways though because as much as I loved my chubby babies there is so much freedom with these mini-people. I love how much of Andy and I are in them and how they share our same outlook on life. I love being able to show them things and take them on adventures. Shoot I just plain love being able to walk through a store and not have someone strapped to me watching the clock knowing a meal time is on the horizon. Plus honestly I'm super spoiled because I still have one very cuddly little man. I think that's helping bridge the gap while we make this transition into the next stage.
I'm not gonna lie. I cried saying good bye to Tekla. She has been the best constant these past years keeping my babies safe and happy so I can work. Mason however skipped his way out of there! In the Fall he'll be attending a pre-K program since his birthday didn't meet the cut off for kindergarten this year. It's going to be the perfect setting to get him used to a school environment and we can't wait for him to start! He asks daily to go to his new school.

I can't believe how much she's grown!! She's grown definitely physically this year but she's also done so much academic growth. She went from hating to read to reading chapter books and she's a rock star at math. We were so in love with her teacher this year and hope that her second grade goes just as well as first grade did.
