Since Andy got a long board for his birthday Mason really, really wanted one too. So when my birthday gift card came from Paul........off we went to Target to find him one. I know, I know that should have been for me but this made me happy and I think that was the point anyways, right? This thing had the worst bearings in it though so thankfully Andy was able to replace them and now it rolls like a champ. We were hoping it would get Mason more interested in being outside having fun but he's Mason and his default is the iPad. But it's at least a little bit encouraging for him to want to be out having some fun, I think?!?! Even so he loved his new skateboard so much he ate dinner on it one night!
Two Saturdays ago Andy and I went to on our first 5K run together. I have no idea why we don't do these more as a couple. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN! He took the spot of our friend who ended up not being able to make it and happily donned the pink unicorn shirt that was our team's t-shirt for the race. He was our team cheerleader and was incredibly helpful in some of the more challenging obstacles where our legs weren't long enough to hop these huge logs and stuff. It was so rad and I think he was completely in his element! Which for our team is having fun and being the hugest dorks that we are and not caring about what others think. We had so much fun sliding down the mud hills and crawling through tunnels. I pulled my leg wicked bad but luckily the hot tub worked it out right quick!

This Saturday our little running team took off in a smaller group and did this really cool Washougal pub run. I've never done one and was extremely worried about bubble gut but it was actually OK. There was so many tasty beers to taste and the cups were so small it was barely anything. There was some major belching happening but for us that's pretty typical anyways ;) I was so excited because we scored some really good deals at REI earlier that day and I had a brand new pair of running shoes to wear. Not only were they super cute but they are such nice supportive shoes. I finally got a pair that didn't hurt or leave me limping the next day. I was ready to go out again even which is unheard of for me!
It was actually kind of a busy weekend as we also on Friday went to the Rose Festival. This is the first year after being up here for six years that we actually went. It's super fun! Our friend's band is a Cake cover band was playing so we went and watched him play for a bit and then rode some rides. The kids had a blast with their friends. Ava even drove the bumper cars by herself! They both said that they loved the band and that Cake is the new favorite music. Mu-wah-wah!! I'm converting them to my music taste!
