There's No Place Like Home

We got the last part of what we planned for the kitchen this year (unless we decide what the heck to do for a back plash and get a bug to do the counters) on Friday! It was a long saga of ridiculousness for my cheap ass. I found a website that sold the exact fridge that would fit in our fridge hole and a dishwasher that we liked for about a grand less than it was sold in local stores. It had free shipping and no sales tax and they were in stock versus what Lowes or Sears had. But the drawback........they shipped from New York! It was the most excruciating wait for someone who is all about instant fulfillment like me! But they are here and it was well worth the wait. The fridge is amazing though it did not fit in said fridge space. Stupid hardwood floors make our floors 3/4" taller than normal. So the fridge is 68" high and so are our cabinet doors and the measurement from the specs we were going off was wrong!  So Andy busted out the bottom of our upper cabinet and sawed down the doors so we have dummy cabinets above our fridge now. Thank heavens for bench storage! All the changes made have really made me feel like the house is shaping up and it feels great. I feel more settled having it how we want it. Sure there are more projects and we have a lot more to accomplish. But we've reached that turning point I felt when we remodeled the condo........that point where you think "OH I reached the other side of this and we're almost done" The point where the balance tips from started remodeling and making it your own and having it actually look like your own happens. It's a breath of fresh air. Kids are doing great! We all had the flu at some point the past two weeks and Ava caught an ear infection. But the whole house is sanitized and the projects are wrapping up and we're all looking forward to longer days and ones where time is spent outside doing stuff. Let the hibernation end!

We got some sunshine! And the temps pushed 60 degrees. We had to soak up some Vitamin D.

We put them to work early :)

Well at least Mason obliged though in her defense she had a pretty bad ear infection

Aren't they a beauty?

The most polite dishwasher ever. Our old dishwasher was like OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I'MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMWASSSSSHHHHIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGG DISSSSSHHHHHESSSSSS!!!!! SCHOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! This one is like "It's ok guys. I got it - carry on with the night in peace!"
