Mason turned 5 on Sunday. It was a great day! We opened family presents and made him his favorite breakfast of blueberry waffles and bacon. He got to have sprinkles and whip cream added because it's his birthday. Then we went and had an arcade party for him at Big Al's with all his friends. He ate up every second of the attention and mostly the giving of presents. That boy loves him some presents.
It's such a bittersweet feeling having him turn five for me. So much has changed and happened since he was born but in some ways it still seems like yesterday that he was this little guy:
And now he's writing his name and going to school and playing video games. And yet when I pick him up and snuggle him close if I close my eyes it still feels like I'm snuggling that little baby above. I hope that I get to hold on to that feeling a little longer.
