This weekend we went to the mall for the opening of H&M in Portland. Friday, I drove downtown on my lunch and scored free tickets to Baby Loves Disco that was playing to celebrate H&M gracing us with their presence. It was kind of exciting for me! Till the day just flopped! Mason and I have been battling pink eye since earlier last week and OMG it felt like acid was in my eyes. I'm sure he felt the same way. I think we're both allergic to the eye drops. So Friday night we had a hot date at the doctor and traveling around to several Safeway's who never ended up having the right medicine we needed. We finally just got it Sunday and are now feeling much better. THANK GOODNESS. So anyways....back to the Disco. It was naptime - whoever planned that does not have kids. And it was small where they had it and it was jammed with toddlers and their moms with gigantic diaper bags that were smashing into us at all times. I think we decided we're all just not huge fans of people so the kids were tired and didn't want to dance and were way overwhelmed by the experience. We decided enough and to just go check out the store. WOW. It was like a warzone of shoppers! I think all of Portland was crammed into that place. We just gave up and bought Ava a necklace for Disneyland that we stood in line for 20 minutes to purchase and when I checked out my bank statement this morning I found out they charged us $162 for it! And when I looked at my receipt I realized they handed me a blank receipt so I can't even prove it! I called the store and they were less than helpful and referred me to the bank. So thank goodness my bank is on my side and we're getting credited back. What a mess. I was so excited for that store to open too and the clothes were amazing but now.......I don't know. Maybe I'll try again after I give them time to figure out their system and for the crowds to die down. After that I decided I was craving peanut butter pie so I busted out my iPhone and googled the most amazing peanut butter pie ever. I found it and bought the fixings only to have the thing just FLOP. The custard part never quite made it to solid so we have peanut butter soup! It was such disappointment - especially because I could have gotten a Shari's pie for half the price and I'm still craving that dang pie! The rest of the weekend was consumed by me complaining about the state of my eyes and poor Andy prepping the car for the trip coming up while in the rain and having to hear me complain about said eye. Oh and Mason spent a vast majority of the time whining and crying. Probably due to the acidic feeling of his own eyes. I think we need a do-over of a weekend! The best part of the weekend was Andy tucking me into bed at 9:30 last night and me getting a full nights rest and waking up this morning to non-gunky eyes! Thank you Safeway on Mill Plain/Andressen for hooking up the meds!
Ava getting her forehead painted. I don't know....I don't think Ava did either. The forehead? Not the cheek? Pretty random!
The finished product. She decided she liked it after all.
This is my first french braid ever! I was so excited I made it work. I should have braided the other way so the braid was going inward but whatevs........so happy her hair is long enough for it and that she's showing interest in doing her hair finally!
