Young Grasshoppers: Dance Dance Ava

Ava did it! SHE WENT TO BALLET!!!! We picked her up yesterday from daycare and she was twirling on the way to the car in her pony tail and ballet gear. She was SO CUTE. She was super nervous when we got there and her little heart was going a mile a minute. I was so glad that the parents were able to stay in the room for the ballet portion of the class because she had a death grip on me when I sat her down for the beginning of the class. But then she got up and once they went to the bar to start doing the ballet stuff she thawed out. She was grinning the whole time! It was SO SWEET. There was one girl in the class that was clearly younger than the rest of the girls and she was not as focused. Ava asked if that girl would be coming back. I think the teacher had to spend a lot of time with that girl instead of teaching ballet which was sort of a shame and intuitive that Ava recognized that. Pretty sure Ava's a little teacher's pet though. She was so focused on what she should be learning and stayed really close to her. That could have been more of the shyness though. Which doesn't surprise me. One thing Ava isn't though is a gymnast. She wasn't too outgoing with all of the activities once they went to the mats. And at one point did a somersault and hurt her back. She told us she did not like the trampoline either. But she asked as we were walking out if she could go back tomorrow so I think it's a good sign! We'll complete this class and then move her over another place that just does ballet for the next class I think.
