Progress in the living room

Check it out! It's coming together this wild project of ours. We've done a lot of things over the years together with our houses but so far hands down this fireplace/built-in cabinet is my favorite. It's the one project that I've loved 100% all the way through each stage of completion and done the happy dance over - literally...many times! It's just our style and reflects what makes us comfy and mostly I love that it's not a copy of something we saw in a store or a magazine. It's something coming entirely out of our own heads. Props definitely to Ikea though for having exactly the doors we needed and to Debbie for suggesting we go there. Here it is with it's unstained top and the framework for the drawer done. We (er um Andy) still have to cut down the mantle so it'll sit flush against the wall - it won't stick out this far and we have to extend out our hearth but you get the idea.

My kids are getting so big! And look at Miss Ava wearing some jeans! I will not shut up about that because I just can't believe she's into wearing them now.

Love my painting? We were painting and by "we" I mean "I" was painting and Ava was instructing me what to paint. Step aside Picasso...

Love their expressions. It looks like they got caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

So....the band aid......It was CRAZY windy on Sunday and I was getting myself into the car leaving Costco. I opened the door and was climbing in and the wind blew the door right into my head! It was so hilarious/embarrassing/painful/did I mention hilarious?/disastrous! And yes Mom, Mason totally has a dirty face again. ;)

Ava chose our dinner Sunday night. This was what she picked: noodle soup, PB&J, mac n cheese, and beans. She got sick afterwards....hmmmmmm can't imagine why. I participated in half this food. Andy avoided it all together and had leftover chicken and stuffing.  He was probably the smarted one of us all.

Jessie is the favorite doll at the moment. Ava just loves playing with her hair and does a really good job at it too. I'm so glad we found her this doll for Christmas!

This was the picture Mason asked for - he said: "Roroper Mama Picture"

You can tell Ava's face is starting to change again and is in total transition. Her nose is elongating and her cheeks are losing their baby look. I can't believe she's 4-1/2 already!
