Funsies!

Lately I've been extremely appreciative of my life and the happy rewards that I've been given the past few months.  I'm grateful for what we have as a family and am happy to be where I am in my relationships and the balance between everything going on and my attitude towards everything. Its like pulling on an old broken in pair of jeans after you haven't worn them for awhile. It feels good!  We stole off to the beach with our tried and true besties recently. It was supposed to be lovely weather and it totally was if not a little windy which was a little crazy. But we made the best of it and had a good time.

Ava's been growing like a weed! We've been watching her baby feet turn into these slender little adult looking feet. She's been getting out and making new friends around the neighborhood which is cute to watch too - especially because they are all going to go to school together next year. Last night she had a movie night with some of them and she came running to me at one point and said "MOM. THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!" It's a good feeling. We've let her ride her bike around the little block by herself with a few older kids a few times. Even though she's literally gone not even 2 minutes out of my sight it's a big deal for me to let the apron strings relax a little. But I know it's time she starts doing that sort of thing now before school so she's used to it and we just have to watch her to make sure she doesn't abuse the new-found small freedoms we've been letting her explore. Definitely glad we live in a closed off neighborhood that allows her to do that sort of thing in absolute safety. When I may not necessarily be two steps away from her I know someone else is outside their house watching out for her.

Mason's been doing big boy stuff too! He's full on talking now which is so stinkin cute. We still don't understand everything but luckily we have Ava to translate. He's just such a little tank. He'll walk up to a group of boys older than him and chase 'em! And they like him and pick him for teams too. That boy's just yummy goodness!

Jojo slept over and we made pizzas!

They did a good job

We had a Cajun Night down the street and brought home some leftover catfish. Now Mason's trying a new "cracker only" diet but he fell off the wagon and devoured the fish!

Cold chillin

This girl loves her the beach

OK.....we were all pretty excited to be there!

Jumping the waves

He finally warmed up and took off his fleece and dug in and got dirty

Sand Angels!

The Three Musketeers

Darn seagulls tried to take our chips!

Who knew a sheet could be so much fun!

Good times with J&J
